Old US customs have been always been followed by some Americans nowadays. One of those customs is to find something that could break the boredom. One of those is the Cornhole game
How it originated
I know, the word seems gay but it was actually a game that came out in the Mid – West. The very first origin though is hazy but some stories say that it started in Germany in the 14th century, and then the people from Ohio rediscovered it within the last century. They also go with the angle that some Native Americans from the Midwest started this because it was similar to their game but only used pig bladders and dried beans for bags. It started to get popular in the late 1990s in Athens, Ohio and in East Lansing, Michigan. It became a tradition that if there is a party, there should be a cornhole game.
How to play
The matches for cornhole are started with innings or frames of play. During those innings, a player would have to throw exactly four bags. The player then would have to deliver the bag from either side of the pitcher’s box, the left or the right but in any single inning or frame, all of those four bags must be delivered from the box of the same pitcher and it can also quite happen that two players, both of them, can throw bags from the box of the same pitcher. Either way goes. A player also has to have a three foot box to throw from. A player must throw in bags within a timeframe of twenty seconds. The timeframe will start when a player will start to step onto a box of a pitcher with the intention of pitching. If a player scores in an inning, he has a chance to be first to pitch in the next inning. If no one has scored in pitches, the player or the team who was last to pitch will be the first to pitch in the next. In this game speed is the key for winning. Each team can play either double or single matches, which makes it a lot more fun and thrilling. There are only four bags that you can throw and make sure that you throw those bags as fast as you can to the cornhole boards. Keep in mind that in a short period of time, you must throw the bags accurately right after throwing the first bag to score and win.
